Concert Recap from Japan

Here's a blog that talks about one of Elliott's concerts in Japan: Concert was about an hour and a half long. He sang a lot of songs from his first and second album and he really sang well. The hall has good acustics so his voice carryed well. But the songs from second album are quite slow and quiet compared with the first one so sometimes I felt the songs from first one are better. First one includes up tempo number so I prefer it. This whole stage was really good and the band played well too. The stage lighting made the stage very attractive.

Possible National Anthem Appearance

It's not on an official Elliott calendar, but here's a calendar that has Elliott performing the National Anthem on July 4 in Tucson: What could be a more patriotic way to commemorate our nation's independence than a night of hotdogs and baseball? Watch the Tucson Toros as they host the Long Beach Armadas. If witnessing the all-American sport isn't enough to satisfy your night, "American Idol" contestant Elliott Yamin will be signing autographs and singing the national anthem. Further details are here.

Fighting for Love and Good Causes

The Daily Yomiuri online has an interview with Elliott by Stephen Taylor. It starts: When all 24 seats at the six tables in front of the stage at Billboard Live are occupied by women, it's a fair bet that the guy with the microphone has a certain appeal for the ladies.
For 2006 American Idol finalist Elliott Yamin, the feeling's mutual.
"[I love] everything [about Japan.] The women, the food, the culture, the weather," the 30-year-old told The Daily Yomiuri backstage at Tokyo FM Hall ahead of a four-night stand at Billboard Live.

TUUFFL Survey Results Part III - Rating the Bonus Songs

Welcome to the third part of the results from the Ultimate Unofficial Fight for Love Survey, where we take the ephemeral and edifying qualities of music and turn them into cold hard numbers. Oops. I better watch what I say or the guys at Billboard might think I’m elbowing in on their territory.

We’ll now take a look at the bonus songs. Since there were fewer respondents familiar with the songs, each ranking carried more weight. This resulted in a little more spread between the songs. None of them reached the lofty numbers of You Say and Know Better from the basic album. Here’s how it all worked out.

CD Review #27: Just Smooth Enough

They're liking the album over at MusicTalk's Blog: . . .songs like "Know Better," "Don't Be Afraid," "You Say," and "Apart From Me," make this record heady yet not crass. Just smooth enough without being coarse. It's just poppy enough not to be a sell-out.

Catching Up on Japan Radio Interviews

Thanks again to siba, who has recorded quite a few of these. I had sincere intentions of transcribing the English portions, but I ran out of hours in the day. Enjoy!
